“The
light.”
This piece is called "The Light”. This was inspired by a music video as well as the song itself called “The Light” by a Hip-Hop artist by the name of Big Sean featuring Jeremiah. The subject shown in the art piece is featured in the music video. This piece is like the meaning of the song, where no matter what can and has been taken from Black people, they cannot take away the light. The light represents the progression, intelligence, and the strengthening of Black people with never wavering. This is something that cannot be taken away because it is in every single one of them, and throughout Black history, they shine that light to the world. This means a pivotal turn for my art, as this is the first public digital work I have made and publicly presented.\

“AWAKEN
BLACK
BUTTERFLY!”
"The Awakening Series" is a multi-media piece called "Awaken, Black Butterfly!" Working off the conceptual foundation, I have applied my collective artistic knowledge and expanded upon such to connect each piece to each other and the targeted audience as well. At the end of the day, the overall series in its entirety is about becoming and loving the best version of yourself and even envisioning yourself beyond your best version, which is why this series is constantly changing and progressing in quality.
